Torrey Pines

California, USA

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a 2,000-acre coastal wilderness located in San Diego, preserving the rarest pine tree in North America, the Pinus torreyana. The Torrey pine is the rarest native pine species in North America, which grows naturally only here and on Santa Rosa Island. Containing high sandstone bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the park also contains a 4.5-mile stretch of beach located at the base of the sandstone cliffs.
