A breeding herd of elephants traverses the dried lakebed just outside of Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Each morning, elephants make the trek from the hills to the south bordering Tanzania, towards the marshes at the center of Amboseli. The matriarch of the herd knows the way and directs the caravan, year after year, season after season. The caravan forms protecting the young near the middle.
