Anhingas share nesting responsibilities, each sex performing specialized roles. Males select the site, perform displays, and gather materials, while females build the nest. Both parents then share in incubating the 2–6 blue-white eggs for 25–30 days, later tending to naked hatchlings and feeding them regurgitated fish.
