A journey of giraffes makes its way across the african savannah in masai mara national park in kenya

Journey of Giraffes

Kenya, Africa

A group of giraffes traveling together is known as a journey of giraffes. The term is used because giraffes are able to travel long distances, and at a stout pace. In fact, the word "giraffe" may come from the Arabic word zarafa, which means "fast walker". When they are standing still, the term "tower of giraffes" is used, with obvious reference to their height. But they can also be referred to as a "herd of giraffes", although that term is not as colorful.
