Congo, Africa

The chimpanzee (Pan troglodytesis) is one of the two species of great apes making up the genus Pan (the other being the Bonobo). It is found throughout the forests and savannahs of tropical Africa.

Chimpanzee facial features include a prominent brow ridge, forward-facing eyes, a small, flat nose, a long, mobile upper lip, and rounded, prominent ears. Their faces have a prognathous, or projecting, shape with a lower forehead than humans. Young chimpanzees have light-colored faces that darken with age, adults have dark faces.
