A fresh snow covers the dunes and sea oats along one of south Carolinas’ beaches after a rare snowstorm has resulted in the accumulation of snow.

Snowstorms are rare along the Carolinas' coasts, accumulation and persistence of this snow is even rarer still.  Fleeting as it is, snow simplifies the landscape presenting an unusual view of typical beach scenes.
